Johnson Reed Fitness Finance has recently partnered with Impact Fitness, who specialise in membership sales solutions throughout the UK health and fitness market. We spoke to Managing Director, Neil Haughin, to find out more about the business.

The Studio Method refers to the process through which clients, ‘learn to train properly and love to train regularly’. Taking inspiration from some of London’s most prestigious ‘boutique’ gyms, The Studio is a private members training facility offering outstanding customer service and valuable personal input to training. Owen approached Johnson Reed to explore leasing options for The Studio’s fitness equipment and various elements of the fit out, including weights, apparatus, furniture, changing room lockers, signage and neon lighting.

Danny’s latest venture, in conjunction with business partner, Luke Kousoulou, is VIP HQ. Rather self-explanatory; the new headquarters will provide a base from which he will run his operation and host his clients. However, VIP HQ isn’t just another gym facility in the saturated Essex fitness market. Based in Stapleford Abbots and spanning three acres of land, the new site boasts both indoor and outdoor facilities; a prefab building filled with functional fitness equipment, and a large outdoor army-style assault course.

Gym 64 boasts all the facilities of a top luxury health club, yet has a modest monthly membership fee starting at just £39 per month. Having first approached us five years ago for equipment finance for the Dunfermline site, we were thrilled when owners, Alan and Nindy Goodsir, and the team at Gym 64 returned to us for help financing their second site in Kirkcaldy.

Connor Crotchett and Leon Jones both boast an extensive background in training and fitness; with Connor serving as Director of 3D Fitness Ltd, which designs and imports their own brand of gym equipment, and having previously owned All Your Life Fitness Club in Tipperary. Leon has been in the fitness industry for 13 years, with five years of amateur kickboxing and five years in the gym industry under his belt, as well as gaining personal training and nutrition specialist qualifications.

As part of a large CEC modernisation programme taking place, facilities at Crewe and Holmes Chapel were the first of the 15 sites to undergo transformation. Crewe Lifestyle Centre combined several existing and services across the area, as well as children’s services, adult day care services, the library and workspace for council employees, all under one roof. The development under Everybody has also allowed for a café facility to be introduced at the site, introducing additional forms of revenue and creating jobs for five more individuals.

The first glimpse of spring sunshine has got us excited for the summer ahead, and while we can hope that the weather gods are kind to us this year, the lucky ones amongst us will be jetting off to somewhere slightly more exotic. The rare British sun also brings the onset of pre-holiday panic, seeing a rise in the number of people investing in costly gym memberships in a last-minute bid to obtain their desired beach bodies.
The team at Life Leisure gyms see fitness as a long-term goal reached by implementing realistic lifestyle changes and setting achievable goals, rather than a quick fix that’s unlikely to satisfy you in the long term. As the biggest fitness provider in Stockport, Life Leisure offer members access to fitness classes, swimming and the latest gym equipment across all sites.

We know all too well that the ‘New Year, New You’ attitude often falls short of our expectations- especially during those tricky winter months. The gym can feel like a harsh replacement to a cosy bed on cold mornings, motivational mantras on our social media feeds can be guilt-inducing and although you might intend to snack on almonds at work, the chocolate is always the more tempting option…
At Scunthorpe’s Elite Fitness, however, the team have been helping members blast through the winter blues and offset their fitness regimes with helpful guidance, a huge range of equipment and enough of a reason to keep returning!

Johnson Reed have recently assisted MyGym owner Murtagh Mullholland in opening his new gym brand in Retford. It’s core focus is to offer a more personalised approach to health and fitness, working to members short & long term goals utilising specialised equipment and personal training at an affordable £21.99 per month.
Murtagh has injected his passion for the industry along with his 20 years experience in a range of difference facilities first as a personal trainer then running Council owned sites in the South East through to luxurious Roko Health club sites in the East.

Steve and Cheryl Cosgrove are a model for many in the leisure industry. As entrepreneurs, they have an established Soft Play Centre that Johnson Reed helped to set up over 6 years ago. Back then, they saw a gap in the market for a new Trampoline Centre – which was a new concept in the UK with only a hand full of locations at the time.
Now, 6 years later, they are looking to expand into a prime spot in the centre of Widnes with the new trampoline club called Velocity Leisure. We’re delighted to say they came back to Johnson Reed for their finance needs!
