Money doesn’t buy happiness. But it does buy trampolines- and have you ever seen a sad person on a trampoline?

The latter is certainly true, and since Jump Division opened its doors to the public on December 15th, there have been many a happy customer in Wigan.
For Debbie and Stephen Stothers, the opening of a trampoline park marked a completely new occupational direction; with Stephen previously working in telecoms and Debbie still juggling a career in Business Training with the new-found commitment of Jump Division.
Situated just minutes from Wigan’s town centre, the park boasts 80 interconnected trampolines, dodgeball courts, slam-dunk lanes, foam pits and a stunt zone.
There really is something on offer for everyone; weekday mornings kick off with increasingly busy toddler sessions, packages are currently being put together for local schools and Debbie says, “We have children’s parties coming out of our ears!”
Due to the popular demand of the Monday and Wednesday evening fitness classes, further sessions are currently being added. The classes encourage you to bounce your way into your summer body, and the fun distracts you from remembering that you’re even exercising.
“The fitness classes are really fun- to watch as well. We can accommodate around 55 people at a time and the sessions are booked up for weeks!” said Debbie.
If bouncing really isn’t for you, you don’t have to miss out on a minute of the fun! Why not grab a coffee or a bite to eat on the mezzanine café balcony overlooking the action?
The husband and wife partnership already employ around 25 staff, from fitness instructors to kitchen staff.
Through a leasing agreement, Johnson Reed helped to fund the interior of the soft play centre, including café equipment, the EPOS till system, the website and those all-important trampolines.
Although Stephen and Debbie initially experienced some setbacks whilst finding the premises, the funding process with Johnson Reed ran smoothly, enabling a quick turnaround.
“Paula was great. We just kept in touch with Johnson Reed until we had the premises for Jump Division and the exact figures. The actual approvals and everything came through really quickly.” said Debbie.
