Our wonderful Senior Accounts Manager, Adrian Barratt, is celebrating a very important milestone this month! Join us as we take a look back over the last ten years of his career.
10 years, and he’s still smiling!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The diversity for one. From soft play centres to plant machinery to Michelin stars restaurants- no two days’ work are ever the same. Overall though, I’d have to say the staff, both past and present. Eastenders has nothing on this place!

How have you seen the company grow and develop?

Of course, the level of turnover and the number of staff. In the last year alone, we’ve recruited in sales, admin and marketing. I feel the biggest upturn is our public awareness. Johnson Reed are a big player in the industry, and we’re well-known amongst our peers.

What’s the most common misconception you find people have about the industry?

It has- and always will be- that finance is only for people that can’t afford to pay for their equipment purchase, which is simply just not correct. In fact, this year we helped ‘The Millionaire Clown’, James Sinclair purchase equipment for a new site. He opted for leasing for the simplicity and tax efficiencies.

What’s your most memorable deal to date?

I’d have to say it dates back to one of my early arrangements that never actually came to fruition- in fact, it was bought up again just yesterday! The world-renowned double bassist, Leon Bosch, wanted to purchase a special one-of-a-kind instrument. The finance was secured and the purchase date grew closer, only for Leon to have his dream buy snatched away at the 11th hour by a higher bidder!

2016 seems to have been the year of the trampoline park! Can you see any more business trends emerging?

If I knew the answer to this, I’d probably be starring on Dragons’ Den! I’d say anything green and environmentally-friendly. I think there’s going to be a big drive to conserve resources and be more frugal within the workplace.
