Pump Gyms opened its doors in Watford in August 2011, with the ethos of ‘Low cost, high spec, any time’. They obviously have a similar outlook on business to the one we have at Johnson Reed. We know the suppliers that offer good value for money. We always advise our clients to invest in the very best equipment. And we believe that time is of the essence when we are arranging finance leasing.

Marc Platter, director at Pump Gyms, did have funds available for the new venture, but his business model relied heavily on investment in top-end, state-of-the-art equipment. He has now invested heavily in more than 80 pieces of cardio and strength equipment, many sourced from Matrix Fitness, a supplier we have worked with for over three years. They believe that their kit attracts more attention and requires less maintenance than anything their competition has to offer.

There are several reasons why Marc came to us. He learned that we are a specialist gym kit finance provider with knowledge of the leisure market and experience in helping new start businesses. Not only that, we can also generate tax advantages for our clients. Marc appreciated not having to find a deposit and he’s now benefiting from fixed payment terms. His customers are happy too. Nine months after opening, Marc had a large, clean bright and simple facility that has now attracted 2,500 members.
