Front-of-house, Charles, and head chef, Adam, make up the entrepreneurial partnership behind Palmyra Square’s new Spanish-themed Tapas and Wine Bar, Las Ramblas, in Warrington. Now, six months since the new restaurant opened its doors to the public, the business is booming, attracting a full-house most evenings. We’re delighted they turned to Johnson Reed for their catering finance needs.
The duo have a wealth of experience from their previous business ventures in the catering and hospitality sectors. Head chef & partner Adam, has previously worked with a North West chain of pubs owned by The Almond Family, long-term and highly valued Johnson Reed customers. Also at the Chester Grove North and for Michael Cain at Manchester’s Abode.
For five years, Charles & Adam have run ‘Grill on the Square’, a hugely popular restaurant also situated on Palmyra Square. The Grill is the most reviewed restaurant in Warrington, with a very impressive five star average rating on TripAdvisor. The reviews comment upon every vital element of the experience; compliments ranging from the sumptuous steaks to the attentive and welcoming staff. Due to the central location and its close proximity to the Pyramid and Parr Hall venues, the Grill attracts a broad range of customers, hosting business lunches by day and theatre-goers by night.
Across the peaceful square is the venue for their second site, Las Ramblas Tapas. The new restaurant offers a hugely unique experience, seating up to 125 covers in the Spanish-themed open plan setting, allowing customers to watch their food being cooked while they wait. The duo dutifully bought it upon themselves to visit Barcelona, for research purposes of course, to ensure they captured the genuine atmosphere through the décor and the menu. One happy customer summed up her experience as ‘Spain without taking a flight!’
We helped to fund a diverse range of equipment, including their catering and appliances, the new EPOS system (tills and software) and the music system. The 3 year lease agreement ensured the restaurant duo could install top range equipment without putting undue strain on the financial performance of either business; a very important consideration in the early stages any business!
The bespoke agreement and management of prompt payment to suppliers ensured Las Ramblas opened its doors without a hitch, as planned and on time to the public on the 1st June.
Johnson Reed’s Jamie sampled the Tapas for his birthday, and we can confirm it has our seal of approval! Have a look at the gallery of pictures below, taken from the Las Ramblas Facebook page.
