Cosy cottage-style pub becomes even cosier

“Outstanding views of the Beacons – the sight of the sun setting on Pen-y-fan was breathtaking.” “The Old Ford Inn is a great place to stay.” “A fabulous cosy pub.” These are just a handful of favourable comments from Trip Advisor about the Old Ford Inn at Llanhamlach in Brecon, Powys.

But it might not be such a ‘cosy pub’ had it not been for the help from Johnson Reed recently with lease finance for a new boiler system. The Old Ford is a centuries-old coaching inn, offering affordable, comfortable B&B accommodation, overlooking the River Usk in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. But, as with so many rustic old restaurants and hotels, they can be a tad uncomfortable for guests if the heating systems aren’t up to scratch.

The owners realised that the time had come to install some new heating. In the end, they were delighted with their new water boiler system that we funded to the value of over £10,000 across 36 months. With no charge on the property and speedy turnaround, we were able to supply restaurant lease finance to install new kit to keep up with technology and improve their internal efficiencies. Once installed, they could enjoy the benefits of fully tax-deductible pay-as-you-use direct debit payments to help with the cash flow.

So they now have a full working heating system, with no more costly repair bills. And of course, as the colder weather sets in, there’ll be a lot more happy guests saying nice things on Trip Advisor – we hope.
