Whether you’re new to a specific gym or fitness on the whole, the gym environment can seem a little overwhelming to begin with! With the array of kit on offer, it’s not only helpful but also incredibly important to know how each piece of equipment works, and how it helps you achieve your fitness goals.

‘Otley’s friendliest gym’, Club Energy Fitness, are enjoying great success as a result of their customer-centred approach. Upon joining, they offer members all the support and advice they need to achieve their goals, including a free induction, consultation and six-week tailored training programme.

First established in 2008, Club Energy Fitness has gone from strength to strength. They specialise in many different types of training; offering studio, cardio, performance, boxing and a ladies zone all under one roof.

Earlier this year, directors, Gary and Patrick, approached Johnson Reed as the business was looking to relocate to larger premises to accommodate their growing membership base. With the help of Mark Johnson, they were able to quickly acquire their desired equipment though a lease; spreading the cost through monthly repayments over a fixed term.

We recently caught up with Gary, who told us Club Energy are looking to make further improvements as a result of their success. It’s always a pleasure to work with returning customers, but even better to hear how far the business has come in such a short space of time!

Since moving into their new 10,000 square foot premise in June, Club Energy have increased their membership by almost 30%. The revenue from the increase in membership can be offset against the repayments, making for a more immediate return on investment and a period of strong growth for the business.

Club Energy are now looking to build extensions to increase the facility by a further 1,500 square feet. With the extra space, they’re planning to extend their cardio and stretching area, create a new free weights section and introduce a new mind-body studio so they can accommodate Pilates and yoga sessions. A teaching room is also planned next to the weights room allowing Distance Learning Students the opportunity to use the facilities with on-site assessments. Mark has secured the necessary finance for the new purchases using in-house funds and Johnson Reed are excited to be on-board!

Gary commented:

From the initial meeting with Mark Johnson, my business partner and I knew we were dealing with the right company for us. Mark immediately understood our vision and budget restraints and tailored a financial package that showcased the building in its best light, and a repayment plan that allowed us to complete a £10,000 square foot gym kit-out. Mark was only a phone call away for advice, and we look forward to fresh and exciting challenges in the upcoming year. With the support of Johnson Reed we hope to continue to grow.
