Saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds, restaurant, games room, fitness classes, kids club and crèche facilities are all features of a top luxury health club. These ‘top-end’ facilities usually also come with a ‘top-end’ price tag, averaging at around £60-80 per month.
This is where Dunfermline’s Gym 64 and these ‘hyper-exclusive’ health clubs differ. Gym 64 boasts all the aforementioned facilities, yet has a modest monthly membership fee, starting at just £39 per month. The site was recognised by the National Fitness Awards, receiving the incredibly impressive, ‘Best Gym in Scotland’ accolade in 2015.
Having first approached us five years ago for equipment finance for the Dunfermline site, we were thrilled when owners, Alan and Nindy Goodsir, and the team at Gym 64 returned to us for help financing their second site in Kirkcaldy.
Based on the established and clearly-successful Dunfermline model, Kirkcaldy’s Gym 64 has all these additional luxury facilities, as well as state-of-the-art key card access and automated security to allow member access 24/7.

39.9% of gym members say good equipment is a leading factor in their continued attendance.

Johnson Reed’s Jamie quickly and easily secured the necessary funds for the site to be fully kitted-out with cutting-edge Matrix cardio vascular and strength equipment. Through the lease and fixed monthly repayments, Gym 64 Kirkcaldy are on track to break even on their investment, with already 1345 members signed up.
“Jamie and the team have been instrumental to our growth,” said Alan, “It’s reassuring that he’s just the other end of the phone should we need any equipment and he always gets the finance approved quickly, leaving us to focus on building the Gym 64 group. Having worked with him on our first site five years ago, we had no hesitation in picking up the phone to lean on him and the team for our Kirkcaldy site.”
