Blk Box Fitness were recently tasked with the fitting of new kit into Loughborough University’s state-of-the-art fitness suite. Loughborough were awarded “Sports University of the year” in The Times’ “Good University Guide 2022”, showing just how prestigious sport is at their university. Furthermore, on campus they have a Sports Technology Institute, which is their £15m facility where the mission it is to have a positive global, social and economic impact on sport through excellent engineering research, teaching and enterprise. It is also the hub of their world-renowned undergraduate courses in Sports Technology, which attracts students from across the globe.
To stay at the top of their game in regards to health and fitness, Loughborough decided to upgrade their strength and conditioning section of their fitness facility, “The Powerbase”, to give their athletes the best equipment available to help them reach their highest sporting potential. The supplier of the Kit, Blk Box, have worked with some big names in the industry including Puregym and Gym box, so it is no surprise Loughborough decided to use them for the level up in their fitness suite. Blk Box supplied a variety of kit including, racks, benches and even branded plates making the gym more personalised and unique to the customer.
Loughborough have invested into their facilities for the benefit of all existing and future students. Since their sports excellence is one of the main reasons why students will elect to study there, it is of paramount importance that the fitness suite is always being improved, making the new fit out a worthy cost to the university. The finance agreement for the equipment removed the need for a large outlay which allowed the fit out to exceed expectations, as it allowed for a higher quality and quantity of kit.
