Case Study

Launch for Liverpool’s ‘Backyard’

Described as a meeting between an LA bar and a San Diego beer garden, providing cocktails, beers and tacos, Liverpool’s newest social spot has opened for business, with the support of Johnson Reed.

To get off the ground, Backyard needed furniture, bar and kitchen fittings, which required equipment finance to start the project. To maintain a good cash flow and being cautious about keeping money in the bank, a lease agreement was the preferred option for Backyard, giving them flexibility and allowing them to achieve their goal of opening the bar sooner than would have been possible otherwise, whilst also affording the best quality to provide a great service.

With our experience working in the night-time economy sector, our team was able to work with the supplier to secure the catering equipment and furniture needed to get started. In order to support their ambitions, the team at Johnson Reed established the best option for Backyard, assessed their business model and financial situation to secure the best deal for their equipment and launch.

“Many thanks to Johnson Reed for their support during this process, as it wouldn’t have been possible without them.”

Simon Beer, Backyard

“Liverpool is famous for its night-time economy, and Backyard will only add to that scene. We love supporting this sector and can’t wait to see it thrive.”
