Run and Jump Soft Play Centre is a start-up business that is owned, operated and managed by Regan Dixon-Tartt and Steve Tartt. Run and Jump is an adult supervised children’s play centre that offers a series of parent/child activities devoted to the physical, emotional and social development of children.

Regan has over four years’ experience in the child activity industry, and throughout this time she has obtained hundreds of contacts of parents and children, and its these contacts that have inspired Regan to open this play centre. Steve on the other hand has 10 years’ experience at senior management level. Combined, both have all the skills needed to make Run and Jump a success.

They now offer a large, full scale play structure for larger children and a smaller play structure for toddlers, both of which will be supplied by The Softbrick company.

Open 7 days a week, the centre boasts a 4 metre, 3 lane wavy slide, ball shower, Astro glide, plus a lot more! For the more sports-minded, there is also a football and basketball court available, and even a separate toddler play area for under 4s. They group have also started offering birthday parties and events for groups of kids, and even organise the booking of themed mascots from a local business! For the patient parents, there is also a cafe for drinks and free wi-fi.

Whilst a new start business, Johnson Reed was able to secure finance for all the play equipment, of approx. £70,000, and also eased the early cash flow requirements by providing a lease facility for the catering equipment. Part of the funding was secured over 5 year period to keep the cost down. All the of the Johnson Reed leases are 100% tax allowable, further assisting the cashflow of the business. You can see photos of all the new equipment on Run and Jump’s website.

Run and Jump offers a unique service in that there is no other program like it in the town of Wigan or outlying areas, and in the shot time of trading they have already received 2,600 likes on Facebook.

Run and Jump will be a all year round, indoor facility that is located on the outskirts of the town centre.

Steve, from the Run and Jump centre, told us:

I would like to say a big thank you from myself and Regan for all the help and support you gave us and to be honest without your advice, support and guidance I am very doubtful this venture would of went ahead, you and all the team are more than welcome to come down anytime to the centre if you are in the area, I will strongly recommended Johnson and Reed to anyone, I look forward to be doing business with you again.
