Spencer Fanstone is a man who knows a lot about the leisure, fitness and gym world. He spent twenty years working for the fitness and development arm of Reading Borough Council. He’s had several roles in that time, advancing through the ranks to Operations Manager where, for the last seven years, he’s been responsible for developing and managing the four flagship leisure centres in the Borough.

With that kind of experience, it was only a matter of time before he took the decision to start his own business. The Barn Fitness Club is the result. Situated in a converted barn in a beautiful rural setting in Cholsey, Oxfordshire, it’s a brand new members-only venture occupying 2,500 sq ft of floor space across two floors of the charming converted farm building. Regardless of age, shape, size or fitness levels, he aims to offer a warm welcome to everybody and expert advice on cardio and strength workouts, with a free weights area and personal training zone.

There was only one problem left to resolve. He had no fitness kit. So this is when Johnson Reed sprinted to his aid and made it possible for him to invest in the latest kit with a gym equipment leasing deal over three years. With our help, and no charge on his property, he’s now chock-a-block with treadmills, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines. With a unique one-card joint membership option, Cholsey is set to become the fittest village in the country – all thanks to help from Johnson Reed.
